You're living in a la-la land 라라랜드는 과연 어디?

오늘의 표현은 (또!) 라라랜드입니다^^; 

"La-la land"

라라랜드! 영화의 배경이 된 Los Angeles, L.A(엘에이)를 붙여서 읽으면 라- 죠. 

거기에 영화가 뮤지컬 영화이기 때문에 계이름이나 흥얼대는 소리 "la la"에서 따온 제목이라고 생각했는데요,

영어에 실제로 'la-la land'라는 표현이 있다는 사실!

이 라라랜드는 어디를 말하는 걸까요? 

La-la land: usually in someone's head, a fantasy world where impossible things might happen

그러니까 라라랜드는 즉 환상의 세계, 비현실적인 세계를 말합니다. 

특히, 영화나 TV 산업과 연관지어 Hollywood가 있는 Los Angeles를 일컫기도 하지요. 

Cambridge 사전에선 "to believe in la-la land"라는 표현을 이렇게 정의하고 있네요.

말도 안되는 일들이 일어날 것을 믿는 것- 

영화를 생각해 보면, 배우로 성공하는 꿈을 믿었던 게 라라랜드를 믿는 것이었을까요ㅎㅎ
